Consultation/development

Assistive Technology Services of Maine works with individuals, schools, universities, state rehabilitation agencies, businesses and anyone else interested in assessing, or implementing assistive technologies. Whether you’re a business interested in hiring employees with disabilities, a school system requiring an assessment for a student, or an individual curious about the assistive technology solution that might be best for you, we can help. By not selling any assistive technology products, we are well positioned to provide you with unbiased recommendations. If you’re a developer, or an organization looking to make your products and services more accessible, we can assist by assessing, advising and testing a variety of solutions. The Assistive Technology Show

Every week, we offer the Assistive Technology Show, an interactive program in which we discuss new technologies, software and offer demonstrations of products and services. Using either the microphone, or built in text chat feature, participants can directly communicate with and learn from one another thereby making the program an interactive experience. Even when we have a demonstration, or guest speaker, ample opportunity is left for participants to ask questions of interest, discuss hot topics in technology and share tips and tricks to make using technology a less frustrating experience. For those who are unable to join us Wednesday evenings between 7:00-9:00 PM, EST, the show is archived and podcasted making it available on demand, or on the go. Mailing list

Assistive Technology Services of Maine maintains a moderated announcements list via which we send announcements of A T Show topics and new services. Our announcements list is a very low traffic list consisting of one, maybe two messages weekly. Please Email me if you would like to subscribe to this list - I’ve recently migrated to a new web hosting provider and have yet to automate the subscription process.
