I’m often asked how, as a blind person, I’m able to use a computer. I certainly don’t mind being asked this question, but it never ceases to amaze me how many misconceptions exist concerning what a blind/low vision person “can” and “can’t’ do with computers. Last night, on the Assistive Technology show, we explored how people who are blind, or low vision accomplish this task.

I realize many readers of this blog already know how blind/low vision folks use computers, however, there’s a good many people out there who frankly don’t. My hope is that last night’s show will serve as a resource for folks who may be curious yet afraid to ask.

You can find this edition of the Assistive Technology show in the show archives, or can download it directly from here. Please don’t hesitate to share this information with anyone who might benefit. Thanks to everyone who helped make last night’s program a success.
